Deja Vu All Over Again...

So, it's the day after the Presidential Election, and low and behold, we aren't entirely sure who our President will be in January. Bring out the lawyers, bring out the chads...this is going to be 2000 all over again...

I remember telling people that this election wasn't going to be close, that people of my generation were going to come out in droves and support Kerry and carry him to victory.

I guess I had too much faith in my generation. A severe egg is on my face. Now, Bush hopes to gain from a very real possibility that he will be re-elected. Once again, we might have another four years of a complete Republican government. Now I know that John Kerry wasn't exactly the greatest candidate ever, but damnit, he was still a good man. He just had bad campaign advisors. Whether he loses this election or not, the Democratic party has to take one long hard look at itself and determine who exactly is going to be the face of the party in 2008. Hillary? I'll be damned if she runs. Edwards? Would be an interesting proposition. Obama, or whatever the hell that dude's name is? Try again, modafocka. Gore? I think he's a lot cooler now than he ever was four years ago. Dean? Yeeeaaahhhhhh right....

Definitely, the party has a bit of searching to do if its going to go up against whoever the Republican party decides it wants to be its faceman. Ahhhnold (I'll be back), Giuliani (that fucking asshole...more on him another time), or McCain will present all kinds of challenges to the Democratic ticket. Hell, maybe even Jeb.

In the meantime, we can only wait to see what's going to happen in Ohio. All eyes are on that little state, and unfortunately, half the people who voted this time want to see it swing in the Red.

Egg all up in my face...

Dude..just think about this. With Bush in office and the Supreme Court needing an overhaul, sex becomes waaay more risky. Bush wants to ban abortions and this is his chance....stupid ass...can we like make him disappear?lol Sam

Man...we needed to abort Bush...he's about as defective of a President as we've ever had...

Oh, well. At least I'll have a source of comic relief for the next 4 years. :-)

just to throw something totally new in here... if scott peterson is voted guilty for two murders, abortion is gonna become illegal for sure. why? because if its TWO murders, then the courts are counting laci's fetus as a human being. -Anna

In the Peterson case, though, while there's a chance that the judge might rule Scott guilty of a double murder with an unborn child, it's basically the assumption that the judge is going to rule on whether or not the child was born and then killed, or if it wasn't. I mean, a lot of the Defense's time has been spent on proving that the child was NOT born at that time, meaning that everyone is counting on the judge making a decision based on whether or not the child was an actual citizen (aka: born) or not, not whether or not the child was killed.

I highly doubt the judge is going to rule it a double murder if the judge believes the child was not born. It's not his call to overturn Roe Vs. Wade anyway. Besides, this case has been long enough...we don't need it to go to the Supreme Court.

OK...the thing is I can understand banning partial birth abortions, because if you've ever heard one described, it's painful and disgusting. But Laci's baby was the equivalent of that. If they find that Laci was killed and then the child was born after her body expelled it and then slowly drown to death, then yes, Scott should totally be found guilty of two murders. But it could not be considered simply equivalent to murdering a fetus, the child was past that stage and already a being. Sam
